The delicate script style font in this allover pattern stencil gave this laundry room a fresh, vintage look.  A definite conversation starter, this stencil was the perfect choice for this homeowner who wanted a unique and different accent wall.  She also wanted a design that would go with the French themed window valence.  I came up with several options, but the one that she loved was this french poem, “Springtime in Paris” from Royal Design Studio.  For the base coat, we decided on a light turquoise blue, Benjamin Moore Bird’s Egg, that complimented the blue in the valence.  The background color in the photos is a little off; it’s really more turquoise than baby blue.  The colors in the postage stamp coordinate with the dark red/cranberry washer and dryer as you can see in the “before” photo.  The colors compliment the window valence as well.  We thought grey and white would be good complimentary colors that went well with the dark blue stenciled letters in the poem and the white wainscoting.  The result is a bright, whimsical accent wall that the homeowner loves.
