My friend, Joanna Schlansky, a realtor at Showcase of Homes, referred me to her client who had purchased an adorable ranch here in town. Her parents were very involved in the home renovations. Every room in the entire house got a new coat of paint and the hardwood floors were refurbished. The home also got a brand new bathroom, new kitchen appliances, counter top and back splash. After all the updates, the budget didn’t allow for new cabinets. Since they were solid oak and in good shape, her mom asked Joanna if she knew anyone who painted cabinets, and she referred her to me.
We decided Linen White would be a good choice for this kitchen cabinet makeover. As you can see from the before and after photos, the difference is amazing. The kitchen is now light and bright, and the homeowner and her mom couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Oak cabinets were popular in the 80’s and 90’s and are still prevalent in many homes. Paint can make a huge impact without the need to tear them out and take on a costly and disruptive renovation. We were able to paint the base of the cabinets very quickly and give the homeowner back her kitchen within several days. The cabinet doors and drawers were installed the next week. Because the hinges were no longer manufactured, they were cleaned, sanded and sprayed a satin nickel to match the newly purchased hardware. The homeowner couldn’t be happier with her “new” kitchen!
