In the March 2012 issue, House Beautiful declared green as “the neutral that goes with everything!”.   Because it is a  color that can be dressed up or dressed down, it is very versatile.  There are many shades that can be paired with a variety of different colors.  A sophisticated environment can be created when combined with other classic neutrals like white, black or chocolate brown.  A space can be lively and energetic when paired with other vibrant hues.  When considering which shade of green to use in a room, think about the mood you want to create and how people will use the room.  Lime and chartreuse are modern and vibrant, blue-greens are cool and calming, olive tones are rustic and cozy.

Here are some green color combinations that work well together:

Lime green + pink

Palm green + burnt orange

Kelly green + navy + crisp white

Pale aqua + raspberry

Sage green + silver

Small doses of citrus add a punch of color and balance to the brown and white color scheme.

Glazed cabinets in moss green create a vintage look along with the crisp white bead-board back splash.

Kelly green linen curtains add a sophisticated tone and enhance  the graceful curves of this refined living room.

The lime green bead-board headboard gives texture, pattern and character to the otherwise flat white walls.
