Although her dining room set was only a few years old, the homeowner wanted to have it painted to change the color and lighten it up.  She and her husband were moving to a 55+ community where the new space was brighter and more contemporary.   The dark furniture was not going to blend with the modern, colorful decor.  The bottom part of a hutch also received a new coat of paint.  Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White was chosen to go with the new kitchen cabinets.  A dark wax and slightly distressed finish were the perfect choice and gave the set a completely different look.  The table top remained the original stained color as well as the chair seats.  Everything else was painted and distressed.  The furniture looks great in her the space, and the hutch has a new home in the entry way.  She is so happy with the results and absolutely loves her “new” set!

The homeowner’s husband was too efficient and removed the doors and drawers before I could get a good before photo, but you get the idea.
